Marietta College right-hander anf former North Shore Navigator Mark Williams has signed a contract with the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League. The signing happened last week, and the member of last year’s title team is currently active for the Wild Things. Williams went 2-1 with a 4.45 ERA in 20 games for North Shore last season and is coming off a tremendous senior campaign with Marietta, which won the NCAA Division III National Championship.
Williams, a D3Baseball.com All-America second team, ABCA All-Mideast Region second team and All-OAC first team pick, went 8-1 with a 1.59 ERA this spring. He allowed 14 earned runs on 48 hits and struck out a team-high 97 over 79 innings in 20 appearances (11 starts).
Williams went undrafted earlier this month in the MLB Draft, but has posted a 2.46 ERA in three appearances out of the bullpen for the Wild Things. To view his statistics on the Wild Things’ official website, click HERE.
