Pregame: Blue Sox @ Navigators

The Game

The Navigators will take on the Holyoke Blue Sox tonight at Fraser Field. In the season opener back on June 8, lightning struck and the wind picked up in Holyoke just after the Navigators took a 4-2 lead on a Dario Pizzano (Columbia) home run in the sixth inning. The game was ultimately called and suspended, but the league ruling said the game would be reverted back to the previous completed inning, meaning the Navigators lost 2-1. Holyoke was off last night after splitting a double-header with the Keene Swamp Bats on Monday night.

Starting Pitchers
NS – RHP Dan Slania (Notre Dame)
HOL – RHP Ben Mount (USC)
Right-hander Dan Slania (Notre Dame) goes tonight for the Navigators. He has gone 0-2 in three starts since being inserted into the starting rotation and suffered the loss his last time out in a 6-1 loss to Newport on July 7 after allowing five runs on nine hits over five innings. Opposing the 6-5 righty will be the 6-foot-8 junior righty out of the Univ. of Southern California, Ben Mount. Mount has 26 strikeouts in 25 innings on the season and has a 3-0 record and 1.44 ERA. He got the win on Monday in a 13-3 win over Keene, allowing just two runs on four hits over five innings. The game was suspended earlier this season and resumed two days ago, so Mount only had to go one inning in order to pick up the win. Holyoke has won in all four of his starts.
