The Florida Gators dropped Game 2 of the College World Series Final last night 5-2 in Omaha to South Carolina. As a result, the Gators were eliminated and South Carolina won its second straight national championship.
Navigators infielder and Gators starting third baseman Cody Dent went 0-for-3 in last night’s contest, but overall had a phenomenal finish to his sophomore season. Dent started the final 17 games at third for the Gators, hitting .286 with a .444 on-base percentage and eight runs and six RBI over that span.
Dent was also a member of last year’s Navigators team and hit .259 with 14 runs scored and 14 RBI in 21 games.
