The North Shore Navigators were held to three hits on Saturday night against the Keene Swamp Bats, as they lost their third straight to drop to 6-6 on the season. Keene starter Nick Neumann went eight shutout innings with nine strikeouts to get his first win.
Navs starter Dan Slania was the tough-luck loser on the mound, as the Notre Dame freshman allowed just one run over five strong innings. Keene added another run in the eigth off reliever Dan Duval.
North Shore put men on the corners with two outs in the ninth following a hit by pitch and a single by Anthony Galli, but Galli was thrown out trying to steal second with Matt Boulter at the plate to end the game. Saulyer Saxon and Matt McGovern had the other hits for the Navigators.
The Navigators return to action tomorrow (6:15 PM) against Team USA at Fraser Field.
