Schrader homers twice in shutout victory

Schrader had two homers and five RBI in Monday's win.

Navs first baseman Jake Schrader was the story in New Bedford on Monday, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double, and a franchise-record five RBI in a 7-0 win over the Bay Sox.

Schrader, a sohpomore from St. John’s River CC, struck for a two-run opposite field shot in the first before launching another two-run blast – this time to straightaway center – to give the Navs a 4-0 lead.

Starter Hunter Rivers (4 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 5 K) got the win on the mound before relievers Nolan Corr, Bobby Dean, and Matt Alvarez combined to pitch five hitless innings en route to the one-hit shutout.
