LYNN, MA — The North Shore Navigators announced on Thursday they have signed infielder Clinton Harwick of Point Loma Nazarene University (CA). Harwick, a freshman, is hitting .294 with two homers and 28 RBI and has started all 50 games for the Sea Lions. He has more walks (13) than strikeouts (11), and has also been hit by a pitch 10 times to account for a .376 on-base percentage. He has primarily played shortstop at PLNU this season.
Harwick’s father, Clint, was a former MLB Draft pick of the Chicago Cubs and spent parts of two seasons in the minor league from 1985-86.
The Navigators have had success with Point Loma in the past, as infielder Tyler Kuehl played for North Shore in 2008 and 2010 and made the 2010 NECBL All-Star team last summer as a member of the Sea Lions.
