postGame: Navigators @ American Defenders

The North Shore Navigators (16-11), for the second time in franchise history, lost their third consecutive ballgame, as the Pittsfield American Defenders (11-15) crushed North Shore 17-7.

…mike gallo did not get much help from his defense and a few questionable calls behind the plate resulted in two catchers interference calls and the ejection of mike dowd.  gallo would allow only one earned run in 2.2 innings.  the north shore bats got gallo off the hook, tying the game at six with three runs in the fourth inning.  matt marquis drove in four runs in his first two at-bats while playing in front of his parents, who made the trip to historic wahconah park in pittsfield.  matt boylan allowed four fifth-inning runs in relief of gallo and pittsfield would pour it on with one run against dan duval and six runs against glen misho.  ben benigno collected two hits, tre dennis extended his hitting streak to 15 games, and tyler ruehlman was 1-5 in his navigators debut…

The game started at 8:06 P.M. and lasted three hours and 24 minutes.  The Navigators return home tomorrow night to play the Holyoke Blue Sox with RHP Jeff Tardiff (Le Moyne) on the hill.
