Today marks the third consecutive day in which the North Shore Navigators will not play baseball. Here are your news and notes entering tomorrow’s showdown with the second place Newport Gulls:
Historic Streak: The Navigators have won five games in a row entering play tomorrow, tying a franchise record for the team’s longest winning streak. In 2008, from July 15 to July 23, North Shore won five games in a row before losing at home to the Sanford Mainers on July 25. The current streak started on June 25 in New Bedford, with wins against Sanford, Lowell twice, and Manchester to follow.
National Respect: The North Shore Navigators have earned a spot among the elite in summer collegiate baseball, as the Perfect Game Summer 25 ranked the Navigators as the 20th best summer college team in the country.
20 in the Books: Tomorrow’s game marks the end of the first half of the season. In June, the Navs went 14-6 overall, 7-1 on the road, and 11-3 vs. the East. Tre Dennis has started each game in center-field as the lead-off hitter.
