Navs’ Brady and Tardiff on NECBL Select team

Navigators’ second baseman Patrick Brady (left), a junior out of Bellarmine University, and pitcher Jeff Tardiff (right), a sophomore from Le Moyne College, have both been selected to the NECBL Select team set to play Team USA on Sunday, July 5, at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium in Manchester, NH.

The USA National Collegiate team has been working out at its training complex in North Carolina for the last month, and in the last week they swept a five-game series against the Canadian team in Durham. Their roster boasts players from some of the top baseball schools in the country, including Arizona State, Cal State-Fullerton, Rice, and Vanderbilt.  Major league stars who have formerly played for Team USA’s collegiate team include Jason Varitek, Todd Helton, Ryan Howard, and David Price.

As for the two Navs’ representatives selected to the NECBL All-Stars, Brady has hit .403 with 2 homers and 12 RBIs for North Shore this season, while Tardiff is 1-2 with a 0.90 ERA in three starts on the year.
