The North Shore Navigators (9-4) were defeated by the North Adams SteepleCats (7-6) by a score of 8 to 7 at Granger Field at Clark University in Worcester, Ma.
…despite fighting back from five-run and two-run deficits, the navigators never led in an 8-7 loss to north adams. the navigators fell behind 5-0 after two innings, with the steeplecats scoring three runs against navs starter jared freni in the first inning before tacking on two more in the second. the Navigators exploded for five runs on six hits in the fourth inning, including an rbi triple by mike lebel, rbi singles by patrick brady and john hill, and a two-run triple by kyle multner. after paul hoilman hit a two-run homer in the top of the fifth, the navs responded again, plating two runs in the bottom half of the inning on joe medeiros’ two-run single. medeiros now has four rbi’s in two games with the navigators. glen misho, mark fraser, and garrett smith combined for 3.2 innings of scoreless baseball out of the bullpen.
The Navigators take on the Pittsfield American Defenders tonight at Fraser Field (7).
