postGame: Bay Sox @ Navigators

The North Shore Navigators (7-2) earned their first walk-off win of the season, as Sean Gilmartin’s 9th-inning RBI-single gave the Navs a 5-4 victory over the New Bedford Bay Sox (3-4).  Gilmartin drove a two-strike pitch from Chris Finneran past Pierce Rankin, the Bay Sox second baseman, to score Jason Markovitz from third base.  Markovitz, who reached third base after a sacrifice by Ben Benigno and a deep fly ball by Mike Lebel, had entered the game to pinch run for John Hill, who reached on an error. The Navs embark on a three-game road trip tomorrow, opening up at Cardines Field to take on the Newport Gulls.
