Navs Official LogoLast night, the North Shore Navigators (5-1) marched into Goodall Park and stole a tight game from the defending champs, defeating the Sanford Mainers (2-3) by the score of 4 to 2.

…it’s the same story each night, and we don’t mind telling it: dominating pitching, timely hitting, and tremendous defense. last night, jason markovitz was excellent through 6.1 innings, allowing only one run.  chris kowalski got the final two outs in the seventh, mark fraser pitched a perfect eighth, and frank luongo picked up his first save of the season in the ninth.  ben waldrip picked up a 2-out rbi single to break open the scoreless tie in the fifth, and sloppy defense by the mainers helped the navigators push across one run in the sixth and two runs in the eighth…
